     Who Took Out O’Toole?    

A Murder Mystery!

The whodunit revolves around the death of a prominent tavern owner and the typical shenanigans of an Irish wake.  

It seems Seamus O’Toole, owner of O’Toole’s Tavern, and a revered member of the community, has dropped dead of an apparent heart attack on the streets of Dublin, Ireland. Friends and family, along with the help of the innkeepers, are planning to gather together to honor his memory with a fitting tribute.  

Written and performed by members of the Cape Cod Cabaret, the weekend begins on Friday night with a true Irish wake at Anthony‘s Cummaquid Inn in Yarmouthport. Guests will be treated to a 3-course dinner, followed by a brief  “prayer service” led by a local “priest” and eulogies proffered by close friends and family members.  

Some members of the community suspect that O’Toole may have been the victim of “foul play”. This underground cartel will be lobbying for assistance in helping to solve what they believe to be “murder in cold blood” by asking guests of the wake to assist local constables in solving the mystery surrounding his death.

An inn-to-inn search for clues ensues on Saturday.  

All is resolved on Sunday at a brunch...

The "Who Took Out O‘Toole Murder Mystery " package includes:

A Three-course dinner on Friday evening.
Breakfast at the Liberty Hill Inn on Saturday and Sunday Mornings, and a Sunday gourmet brunch held at the Sandwich Hollows Golf Club, where the truth will be revealed and O’Toole finally laid to rest.   .

The murder mystery requires a minimum two night stay.

The Liberty Hill Inn along with The Bed and Breakfasts of Historic Cape Cod Bay present “INNtense... INNvaluable.. INNtimate Education for Aspiring Innkeepers”, a 3-day/2-night weekend seminar that promises comprehensive coverage of personal and professional topics affecting aspiring innkeepers, plus a chance to tour a variety of inns, and speak one-on-one with proprietor actively inn keeping on Cape Cod. The first of many planned inn keeping seminars will take place January 18-20, 2008. Additional seminars are planned for February 29-March 2, and March 28-30.

The weekend includes 12 plus hours of classroom time to cover the “inns and outs” of business planning, financing, and marketing a bed and breakfast, as well as an opportunity to tour a variety of inns–from 3-room B&Bs, to full service inns, and inns with spa services. The weekend will kick off with a wine tasting hosted by the innkeepers, which will be held at The Wine List in Hyannis.

Aspiring innkeepers will be introduced to a diverse group of inn owners, including single parents and expatriates. Unique to this inn keeping program is the opportunity to discuss sensitive issues that affect innkeepers’ personal lives, such as inn keeping with children or as a single parent, as well as the nitty-gritty aspects of how to organize a B&B cooking school, remodel and decorate an inn, or network to build business during optional 90-minute break-out sessions held on Sunday afternoon.

The price of the program is $175 per person or $195 per couple, which covers the cost of the course, materials, lunch on Saturday, and the wine tasting. Accommodations are additional.

Wine Festival Getaway Package

The festival will showcase the area’s premium restaurants and chefs during a progression of “happy hours” and fine dinners. As many as forty restaurants from Bourne to Provincetown will emphasize their chefs’ culinary creations each evening.  In collaboration with the restaurants international and local winemakers will present pairings of magnificent wines from every region of the world.
